Telegram from Ambassador Howard P Jones in Djakarta to Secretary of State - conversation with First Minister Djuanda, in which Djuanda made the following points : Indonesian Government convinced that British intelligence was behind recent bombings at strategic Indonesian military installations; Vietnam coup likely to have unfortunate reactions in Indonesia because of apparent Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) involvement; no indication of changes in Sukarno's Cabinet; Indonesia's economic difficulties were being gradually solved; oil contracts to be approved by parliament by mid-November; how Indonesian Government has intentions to return British commercial properties under protective custody; Djuanda's opinion that Sukarno would accept Malaysia provided some face saving formula was developed; economic confrontation against British and Malaysia likely to be intensified after GANEFO (Games of the New Emerging Forces); how German President's visit was a great success.
