About Project
The interviews under this project provide a detailed look at the nature of the job of individuals working in the various sectors of the Civil Service.
Its contents address the various first-hand encounters these individuals have experienced in their line of work and the work culture in the public service. Some talking points include the working conditions during the colonial days, the issue of gangsterism and drug trafficking, and even near death experiences on the job.
Interviewees include Dr Baey Lian Peck, who chaired the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association for 20 years and Francis Ignatius Aftab Chowdhurie, who worked at the Television Corporation of Singapore as a Production Manager.
