The hydrographic chart is Admiralty Chart No 1341, surveyed by Capt Daniel Ross in 1827 and  Turnbull Thomson in 1842, with additions to  1845, showing soundings in fathoms, submarine contours, reefs, mud bank, sand dry at low water, southern coast of Singapore, islands, at and around Singapore Town, roads, buildings, rivers, mangrove marshes, hachures, paddy fields, sugar and cotton plantations, Chinese gardens, brick kilns, Singapore River, R Kelang (Kalang), new water cut (Rochor Canal), Mount Sophia, Pearl Hill, Government House, Armenian Church, Court House, Police Office, Royal Tombs, ''Sultan'', Malay Town, China Town, Bugis Town, Bencoolen Street, Hill Street, Marbro (Victoria) Street, South Bridge Road, Norht Bridge Road and Beach Road, Singapore Strait, Brani Island, Blakan-Mati Island (Sentosa), Sikajang Island (St John's Island), St John Island (Lazarus Island), Ayer Limau Island (Pulau Merlimau), Sikra Island (Pulau Ayer Chawan), Sambo Island (north of Pulau Batam, Indonesia), and others.
