People's Association
The People's Association (PA) is a statutory board set up by an Act of Parliament in 1960. It used to be under the purview of the Prime Minister's Office, but later came under the Ministry of Community Development.

The PA performs the dual role of firstly acting as a catalyst for community development and nation-building by promoting group participation in social, cultural, educational, sporting and other activities to nurture inter-racial understanding; and secondly to serve as an effective channel for communication between the government and the people. It recruits volunteers, manages community centres/clubs and the PA sports clubs, plans and co-ordinates community programmes and activities, and helps to administry Edusave scholarships and bursaries and social assistance schemes.
