The Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA) has launched a new social networking platform ‘LIVE@SG’ on www.sg to enable friends and fans of Singapore to share interesting anecdotes and experiences about how Singapore is indeed a vibrant place to live, work, learn and play.
2 LIVE@SG aims to provide visitors with opportunities to network and make new friends while sharing some of the most interesting, latest and frequently asked questions about Singapore. Friends and fans of Singapore will be able to post their thoughts and respond to questions about Singapore posed by foreign visitors in an interactive Question-and-Answer format. Through LIVE@SG, they will also be able to interact with some well-known Singaporeans and fans of Singapore including writer Neil Humphreys, Team Singapore tri-athlete Mok Ying Ren, award winning Singaporean photographer Tay Kay Chin, Singapore expat Peter Breitkreutz, a.k.a award-winning blogger Aussie Pete and popular Malaysian blogger Kenny Sia.
3 From 15 March to 15 April 2010, two participants who post the best question and the best answer respectively will each win a pair of return air tickets to Singapore or another country. Visitors to LIVE@SG can play a significant role in determining the winners by voting for the best entries. 50 lucky participants will also stand to win autographed copies of author Neil Humphreys’ latest book, Match Fixer, as well as premiums from www.sg.
4 www.sg has also incorporated new features such as social networking tools (www.facebook.com/www.sg or www.twitter.com/www_sg), widgets and content feeds to facilitate greater interaction and engagement with the online community. Visitors to www.sg can also visit its photo and video gallery where users can view and share content.
