2. Starting salaries for military specialists in the ranks of Recruit to Third Sergeant will also increase by 5%.
3. The exact salaries that are offered to new officers and specialists will take into account their scheme of service, vocation, educational qualifications and any other relevant skills and experience. Increments will also be given for those who have done National Service. Those recruited in the recent years before 1 Jun 2007 and currently serving in the organisation may also receive appropriate adjustments to their salaries.
4. The adjustments to the starting salaries are part of the continual effort to ensure that salaries in the organisation remain competitive to attract quality people to join MINDEF and the SAF.
