1.         The Chief of Air Force, Major-General (MG) Lim Kim Choon, is on an official visit to Indonesia from 5 to 7 June 2005 to receive the Bintang Swabhuwana Paksa Utama � Air Force Star (First Class) � from the Indonesian Government.  Commander-in-Chief of the Indonesian National Defence Forces, GEN Endriartono Sutarto, conferred the award on MG Lim Kim Choon today in a ceremony at the Indonesian National Defence Forces Headquarters.  

2.         The presentation of the award reflects the warm and longstanding defence ties between both countries, and between the two air forces.  Singapore and Indonesia share a longstanding defence relationship that spans a broad spectrum of exercises, interactions and exchange programmes across the three Services.

3.         As part of the visit, MG Lim Kim Choon will also be calling on Chief-of-Staff of the Indonesian Air Force, ACM Djoko Suyanto and GEN Endriartono Sutarto.
