Meaning of the Logo Text of the Exhibition "Serving Singaporeans Today, Tomorrow"

The orangered colour of the words "Serving Singaporeans" and "Today" symbolises the dynamism and energy with which the Public Service strives for continuous improvement, serving our customers with CARE and PRIDE.

The bold blue of the word "Tomorrow" demonstrates the forward looking character of the Public Service and our commitment to always reach for higher standards of quality.

The Public Service is about people. With this emphasis, the two stylised figures represent the partnership between public officers and Singaporeans.

The Exhibition Subthemes

The exhibition will be organised according to subthemes reflecting clusters of related public~services. These will help visitors identify with the services offered by the Public Service more readily. The areas are:

A. Enhancing living standards This will show how the public service has improved Singapore's living environment, housing, healthcare, arts, culture, and recreation facilities, hence contributing to a better life for Singaporeans;

B. Connecting at home and abroad This will highlight how the public service plans and operates our worldclass communication networks road, air, and sea transport; information technology and telecommunication to plug

Singapore into today's world;

C. Developing a dynamic economy This will present the role played by the public service in creating a conducive environment for the private sector to generate wealth, jobs and businesses for Singapore's survival and growth;

D. Making friends, assuring security This will highlight the contribution of institutions such as our armed forces, the police force, drug enforcement agencies and the civil defence network. It will also inform the public about the

importance of sound foreign policy, effective anti-corruption measures and an efficient, just legal system;

E. Investing in our people This will highlight the investments made in our education system such as improvements in curriculum, upgrading of school environment and facilities, progressive enhancement of teaching systems and training opportunities for lifelong learning;

F. Caring for the community Focusing on the people, this section

will show how the public service is working to bring home the importance of social cohesion, care for all members of society and the building of a gracious community.
