MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS NEWS RELEASE

The Ministry of Home Affairs was informed on 27 January '97 by the Comptroller of Income Tax that IRAS is investigating the tax matters of Mr Tang Liang Hong. As Madam Teo Siew Har (wife of Mr Tang Liang Hong) had been involved in the movement of some of Mr Tang's files from his office to their home and may also be involved in the administration of Mr Tang's tax matters, the Comptroller was of the view that Madam Teo should not be allowed to leave Singapore until IRAS has completed its investigations.

After considering the above facts, the Minister directed the Controller of Immigration to cancel all the passports issued to Madam Teo under the Passport Regulations with effect from 27 January '97.
