Synopsis :The forum examines the differences in moral education between English and Chinese Schools.
The speakers are Engineer, Chen He Shui (陈和水); Quantity Surveyor, Public Utilities Board (PUB), Pan Xian Yi(潘先益); Assistant Chief of Police, Cai Zhen Jie (蔡振杰); Electrical Engineer, Ministry of Defence, Guo Bing Fu (郭斌富); Lecturer, Department of Architecture, National University of Singapore, Lin Zhong Nan (林宗南); Land surveyors, Xie Yi Guo (谢一国) and Liu Yun Song (刘筠松). This forum is co-hosted by Wu Jia Bi (吴佳壁) and Chief Associate Professor Koh Lip Lin (高立人), Nanyang Technological University.
Areas of discussion inlude the following:
1. Differences in teaching methods.
2. How Western and Chinese cultures, values and perspectives differ.
3. While both languages convey significant moral values, Chinese language is assessed to be more suitable for moral education.
