Apr 1862 No. 98-9 - Series of correspondence between O Cavenagh, Governor of Prince of Wales Island, Singapore and Malacca, and the Secretary to the Government of India, regarding payment of allowance to the family of the Tumongong of Johore following his demise. Cavenagh reports on the demise of the Tumongong of Johore and the succession to the title by his eldest son Inchi Wan Aboo Bakar. He also seeks instructions from the Government in India regarding the continuation of pension payments to the late Tumongong's family. The British Government sanctions the continuation of pension payments, with the understanding that the respective payments will cease upon the demise of the recipient.
