Foreign Pol Dept. 3 Jan 1828, No. 1-2  - Letter from J Anderson, Secretary to Government, to G Swinton, Secretary to Government at Fort William, enclosing his correspondence with J Prince, Resident Councillor at Singapore, regarding the refusal of the Sultan of Singapore to permit the colours of the Sultan of Lingen to be hoisted at his own port and the sending of men and arms to Singapore by Mahomad Hussein, Sultan of Rhio. The British Government wants Hussein to know that he is not to use Singapore as a place for warfare with neighbouring states.
