Extract from Proceedings of the Governor General of India in Council in the Home Department

Foreign Pol. Dept 16 May 1863 No. 33 - Letter from C Wood, Secretary of State, to the Governor General of India in Council, transmitting remarks and orders on various matters such as the transmission of the treaty between the Sultan and Tumongong of Johore, to the Dutch government. The contents of the treaty are not stated. Other matters include: 1) request for the transmission of a Turkish Medal for a Civil Surgeon; 2) receipt of Cashmere Tributes Shawls; 3) sanction of a Superannuation Pension; and 4) the appointment of a British officer to intervene in the affairs of the two 'Kamdar' states.

Home Marine, Cons. 8 Dec 1853 No. 7 - Extract from the proceedings of the Governor General of India in Council. The British government sanctions the contingent charges of the Horsburgh Light House according to its actual wants and requirements, since they fluctuate 'according to the rise and fall of the prices of provisions in the market, and the quantity of articles stored in the Light House'. However, an explanation is required from the Governor of the Straits Settlements 'every half year whenever the expenditure exceeds on an average the sanctioned amount of 122 Rupees per month'.
