Foreign Secret Cons. 31 Oct 1823 No. 21 - Letter to J Crawfurd, Resident at Singapore, informing him of the letter from Vander Capellen and instructing him to conduct an inquiry into the hoisting of British flag at Johore. He is also asked to find out whether the condition that 'until the proprietary titles shall be expedited in due form, a deed of grant will be delivered to the purchasers under the Seal of the Honorable East India Company' was actually published in Raffles' proclamation regarding the alleged sale of land in Singapore.
