The file contains a lengthy transcript of the trial in which Ethel Proudlock, the daughter of the Clerk of the Works in Selangor State who admitted that she had fatally shot a Mr Steward at her house. She  was sentenced to death. An appeal was lodged but withdrawn when the death sentence was commuted. The Sultan requested that she should be given a free and unconditional pardon and she left for England with her father.
