WO 203/5101: Operation Zipper. Mounting plans
01/01/1945 - 31/12/1945
Planning papers and general correspondence pertaining to Operation Zipper mounting plans. Plans were made based on JPS 119 with some alterations. In the D day convoy, a proportion of the shipping lift has been transferred from Bombay to the East Coast ports and Cochin, to enable 25 Div. and 46 Beach Group to be mounted from East and South India. Cargo ships and coasters for the first two convoys are shown as loading at Bombay. Loading of mule ships have been divided equally between Bombay and the East Coast. No units have been shown as loading at Calcutta, as it is not yet known to what extent Corps or Army Troops, or RAF units, will be positioned behind that port.
