WO 203/4878: Entry of service families into SEAC
01/01/1945 - 31/12/1946
Correspondence pertaining to the War Office change in policy concerning the wives of British Service personnel attached to the Indian Army joining their husbands. This is to prevent undesirable mixed marriages with local women among personnel in the East Indies Station. Sir Keith Park said that the Air Ministry policy was to discourage marriages to the maximum degree. Supreme Allied Commander South East Asia (SACSEA) decided that no inter-service policy on the question of undesirable marriages should be formulated as the setting up of such a machinery might draw unwelcome attention to the subject.
