WO 203/4782: Operation 'Livery' to re-occupy Phuket
01/01/1945 - 31/12/1945
Contains a report from HMS Ameer to Commanding Officer of HMS Empress pertaining to Operation 'Livery' to re-occupy Phuket. Appendix II contains air operations report describing strikes and reconnaissances on Phuket and Bandon airfield. A summary of aircraft serviceability is found in Appendix V. Force 63 participated in the operation. As a result of Operation 'Livery' it is considered practicable to operate 24 Hellcats and a Walrus, even under poor flying conditions. This opinion is based on the assumption of a fully worked up squadron with operational experience.
