WO 203/4781: Operation 'Collie' to re-occupy the Nicobars

Reports of proceedings of HM Ships and of the 6th Minesweeping Flotilla pertaining to Operation 'Collie' to re-occupy the Nicobars. The Operation was carried out by Force 61 consisting of HM Ships Nigeria, Ameer, Emperor, Roebuck, Eskimo, Vigilant and Force 62 consisting of HM Ships Melita, Gozo, Lennox, Persian, Postillion, Lightfoot, Immersay, Lingay and Pelorus. They sailed from Trincomalee to CAR Nicobar on 2 July 1945. Appendix 1 of the Operation 'Collie' report contains a summary of air strikes and bombardments carried out on CAR Nicobar. The details of these attacks are contained in the Appendices to the reports of the individual ships concerned.
