Correspondence and reports pertaining to aerial photographic reconnaissance and survey in SEAC. Supreme Allied Commander South East Asia (SACSEA)'s mapping cover requirements include Singapore and in Malaya - Johore, Negri Sembilan, Selangor, West Perak, and Kedah at scale one over 25,000. Photographic reconnaissance requirements in the Johore Straits include: beaches for defence; towns and ports for town-planning; and industrial installations and mineral deposits for general intelligence. Intelligence cover to include oilfields. Includes a list of airfields at a scale one over 20,000. Topics also covered: SACSEA's request for the retention of the 24 Combat Mapping Squadron; request for more aircraft at 684 Squadron to meet the needs of the new radar survey task; photographic reconnaissance to provide photographs for Operation Talon; aircraft cover of main Zipper beaches should not affect flying programmes; exchange of survey coverage in the Far East with Americans is under discussion; Air Command suggested to R.A.A.F. Hq that Australian resources be used for cover of Borneo and New Guinea.
