Report on the proceedings of Operation "Onboard". Force 70 consisting of H.M. Ships Saumarez and Vigilant forming the 1st Division, and Volage and Virago forming the 2nd Division proceeded from Akyab for Operation "Onboard" on 25 March 1945. The Gunnery Report recorded the amount of ammunition expended by each of the ships ranging from 660 to 960 rounds of 4.7". In the course of this operation, four Japanese warships and merchant ships engaged in supplying the garrisons of the Andaman Islands were destroyed. The Vigilant carried out trials of the engine room unit isolation system.
