Documents on Malayan currency and financial policy during the liberation period. A proclamation offering British Malayan notes issued by the Currency Commissioners of Malaya in exchange for pre-occupation currency. Notes issued by the Japanese are no longer accepted as legal tender. Japanese banks and financial institutions will not be re-opened. Includes a provisional monetary and fiscal guide for Malaya, applicable to the Colony of the Straits Settlements, the Federated and Unfederated Malay States.
