FCO 141/15472: Singapore: St John Ambulance Brigade; awards - migrated archives
01/01/1949-31/12/1951
Papers relating to the proposed formation of a branch of the St John's Ambulance Brigade in Singapore and the suggested visit of Colonel Sir James Sleeman, Chief Commissioner, Overseas, to Singapore, Malaya and Hong Kong in January 1949. The invitation to visit Singapore is a little premature since the executive committee had only just been formed in mid 1948 and the Brigade was not yet in existence, although the organisation had been very strong in Singapore before the war. However a visit in February 1949 was agreed upon. Other papers are concerned with the appointments to the order.
