The photograph shows the area around the coastal end of Joo Chiat Road and the former Marine Parade running perpendicular to it along the coast. The former Joo Chiat or Marine Parade Jetty is also visible in the photograph and the former Tung Ling English School, which later became Tung Ling Bible School, on the right hand side of the jetty.
