EAST COAST ROAD - KATONG BAKERY
Although it was more popularly referred to as the "Red House Bakery", its actual name is Katong Bakery & Confectionery Company. Probably the name "Katong Bakery" is more appropriate and fondly remembered by Katongnites because there is also a red coloured building and a confectionery called "Red House" at the corner of Bras Basah Road and Victoria Street. Katong Bakery is housed in a row of old shop-houses along East Coast Road. The gap to the right of the bakery leads to another famous shopping Katong landmark called "Tay Buan Guan Supermarket".
