MINISTER FOR COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION DR YEO NING HONG AT OPENING OF MASS RAPID TRANSIT (MRT) PASSENGER SERVICE BETWEEN JURONG EAST AND LAKESIDE AT JURONG EAST STATION
A line-up of 11 VIPs (Very Important Persons), led by Minister for Communications and Information Dr Yeo Ning Hong, will position themselves each in front of a train door to cut ribbon at opening ceremony to inaugurate the extension of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system on western line. The three new stations are Jurong East, Chinese Garden and Lakeside. From right are Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayer Rajah Dr Tan Cheng Bock, MP for Yuhua Yu-Foo Yee Shoon, Chairman of MRT Corporation (MRTC) Michael Fam (hidden), Dr Yeo, Acting Health Minister Yeo Cheow Tong, Minister of State for Communications and Information Mah Bow Tan, MP for Boon Lay Goh Chee Wee (hidden), Chairman of Singapore MRT (SMRT) Fock Siew Wah, MPs for Hong Kah Group Representation Constituency (GRC) Dr John Chen and Abdul Nasser Kamaruddin, and Executive Director of MRTC and Managing Director of SMRT Lim Leong Geok (hidden).
