Synopsis
*Personal background. Recited action rhyme that was popular among the Peranakans. Recited Peranakan children’s rhyme on rock sugar. Non-Peranakan neighbors not learn the Peranakan rhymes. Teasing rhyme directed to Indians and he learnt it from relatives. Rhymes often sang in a certain rhythm. Teasing rhyme on mother in laws learnt from wedding functions. Learnt rhymes of other communities in his kampong. Recited teasing Hokkien rhyme learnt from neighbors.
