Synopsis
Born in China. Family background. Why she came to Singapore around 1939. Became Chinese teacher. Later joined British Malayan Broadcasting Corporation (BMBC) as news announcer. When Japanese bombed Singapore, she left in ship arranged by British government but was caught by Japanese army. kept in concentration camp in Indonesia. She returned to Singapore after war. She became a teacher and part-time news announcer at British Far East Broadcasting Station.

Recalled how Singapore Rediffusion was set up. Structure of Rediffusion and staff. Li Xiaoyin's pivotal role in Rediffusion’s programme planning and management. Rediffusion was very popular and installed in many coffee shops and Housing Development Board (HDB) flats. Hosted children’s programme, produced “movie magazine” programme. How Rediffusion produced children's radio dramas and radio dramas.

Synopsis
Clarified where she stayed when she arrived in Singapore. Recounted about how Mr Oldridge from British Rediffusion set up Rediffusion in Singapore. Recalled some main engineers and first few broadcasters then. Some criteria in selecting broadcasters and training offered. First few broadcasters who joined Rediffusion gave themselves pseudonyms. She suggested reasons for this. Broadcasters then seldom announced their names during broadcast.
