Worked in the Syonan Tokubetu Si during the Japanese Occupation. Rounding up of Chinese civilians at Jalan Besar. Life during the Japanese Occupation. Surrender of the Japanese in 1945. *Applied for a job as an Assistant Traffic Superintendent at the Singapore Harbour Board (SHB). Job responsibilities. Port activities in the late 1940s. Changes in the port with the replacement of SHB with Port of Singapore Authority (PSA). Responsibilities with his promotion to be the Director (Operations) in 1964. Containerisation of the port.
