Her career development; promotion from staff nurse, midwife, sister, matron.  Description of nursing profession in 1950s.  How she reached highest levels before retiring 1971, obtaining World Health Organisation fellowship for nursing administration.  Conditions as trainee nurse, including during Japanese Occupation.  Sent to work in Woodbridge Hospital.  Types of common illnesses, including internees; treatment  with scarce equipment, why called 'B29' by internees; doctors she worked with during war.  Posting to poor hospitals after  war.  Midwifery course; main problems of midwifery work, e.g. lack of prenatal care. Problems on public health and mothers/babies.

Description of nurses' strike over pay/night duties.  As principal matron, her recommendations over pay and conditions, how she identified/handled problems with staff. Why she decided to retire.  Her views on shortage of nurses. Why she completely avoided nursing upon retirement.
