Umar Pulavar Tamil High School. Teacher, who favoured certain group of students, was transferred to another school. Umar Pulavar School provided 150 Chinese students a place for night classes. In 1966, obtained Singapore citizenship and 1967, became Tamil teacher in same school. Description of Neelambigai Tamil School. There were 62 Tamil schools in 1947.

People's Action Party (PAP) Government bilingual policy affected all Chinese, Malay and Tamil schools. Most students went to English schools. As student enrolment dropped, Tamil schools closed. He is active member of Tamil Teachers Union and Karambakku Tamil Progressive Society. In 1983, he did research on 10 old Tamil schools.
