Synopsis
*In 1936, passed senior level and taught in same convent school in Ceylon. In 1939, left Ceylon on board French ship to visit sister in Singapore. Stayed at Lanka Hotel in Tanjong Pagar. Sister worked in General Hospital. Eurasian girls were nurses, matrons, and doctors were Europeans. Tanjong Pagar and lifestyle of people. Returned to Malaysia, taught at Pontian Kechil School. During vacation, visited family in Katong. Description of Katong vicinity.

*Encounter with Japanese at railway station. Came back to Singapore in 1946 and taught at St Hilda's School. Salary was $100. She got married in Kuala Lumpur. Husband working in Singapore Harbour Board. Stayed in Harbour Board quarters in Tanjong Pagar. Description of quarters, type of items kept and interior design of these quarters. Type of games and entertainment popular with people then. Cinemas, snake-charmers and amusement centres were good attraction.

Synopsis
*In 1953, she went for teachers' training course. After graduation, taught at St Theresa's Convent until retirement. Description of Teacher's Training College. During 1950s, a number of Eurasians left Singapore for Australia and England. Eurasians perceived People's Action Partry (PAP) Government as Communist and felt threatened. After retirement, she was teacher cum principal at Our Lady of Lourdes private school and gave tuition to students taking speech examination.
