Synopsis

Brief family background. Father migrated to Singapore in 1900. Father set up provision shop, Chua Chuan Leong at Bukit Timah Road. Business continued during Japanese Occupation with help of Japanese Commander. Attended Japanese language class and how it had helped in business with Japanese firms now. Rationed foodstuffs sold in father's shop.
