Synopsis
Ulu Pandan Citizens' Consultative Committee's role in Ghim Moh community. Strong Barisan Sosialis (BS) support in Ghim Moh village in 1960s. Political and social objectives in setting up community centre (CC) in village. Initial period was met with hostility and uncooperation. How CC Management Committee succeeded in changing villagers' attitude. BS extra-parliamentary struggles worked to advantage of government.
