Synopsis

Personal background.  Came to Singapore in 1947.  Worked in sago factory for few years.  Became night-soil carrier in 1956.  His working hours ended at 2.00 pm.  Also worked as trishaw rider in the afternoon.  About 4,000 trishaw riders at that time.  His earnings as part-time trishaw rider.
