Synopsis

Personal background. Came to Singapore in 1931. How Japanese started war of aggression in China. Remembered war songs sung then. How school students helped war victims in China. Family shifted to Clementi. Reared domestic fowls and pigs and grew vegetables. Studied in Jie Gu School at Bukit Ho Swee. School principal advised him to return home when Japanese bombed Singapore.
