Capitol, Pavilion, Alhambra, Marlborough and Theatre Royal were familiar names in local cinema industry. Seating capacity and price of tickets in cinemas screening English and Chinese shows. He suggested to cinema operators to grant same concession to Chinese-medium students. At that time Majestic Cinema was biggest cinema to screen Chinese shows. His opinion that providing Chinese synopses for English shows was a good publicity stint.

Synopsis
Lianhua, Mingxing, Tianli, Xinhua and Yihua were major film distributors for Chinese shows. After war, Kunlong and Wenhua became major film distributors in Shanghai. Explained how he translated Captain Courageous and Gone with the Wind into Chinese to suit local context. His advertising firm clinched most of the deals to translate film titles and synopses for cinema shows.
