Synopsis
Family background. Wait Hong was not real name. Childhood home. Pampered as youngest child in family. Bad experience as apprentice to neighbour, a Chinese opera artiste in China. At age of 10, brought to Hankou. Ill-treated by master; made to perform menial household chores. Returned to family after two years. Mother employed another opera teacher for her.
