Also shown are 2 insets: 1) Singapore Town showing roads, buildings, churches, hachures, hills with names, swamps, cemeteries and padi fields (at Balestier Plain and Kallang) by symbols, New Harbour, docks, wharves, Blakang Mati Island (Sentosa), Pulau Brani, Botanic Gardens, race course, Government House, criminal prison (Outram Prison), lunatic asylum, library and museum, gas works, filter beds, reservoir and water works (at Mount Emily), Singapore River, Stamford Canal, Rochor Canal, Rochor River, Kallang River, Fort Canning, Raffles Hotel, Raffles Institution, St Andrew's Cathedral, Hotel de l'Europe, Supreme Court, Town Hall, Commercial Square, Central Police Station and others. 2) Juncture with the Main Map showing Siamese States (edged yellow) and British Territory of Burmah (now Myanmar, coloured pink) all bordered by undefined boundaries, bridle roads and paths, rivers and streams, islands, tin locations, highland shading, towns (muang) of Pak Chun or Kra, Chumpawn, Maliwan, Chaiya, Kan Kyun Kyadet, Nakawn Sitamarat, Puket, villages (ban), temples (wat) and others.
