[301 pages] This file starts with the report of and arrangements regarding the arrival of army troops on 5 Sept 1945 from Rangoon. It includes the equipment and units that arrived, and their locations. Subsequent enclosures about the arrival and locations of other troops. The locations included military and civilian premises such as old school buildings, residences, hotels, office buildings, and commercial buildings. There are also notifications about military and civilian personnel who would be arriving in Singapore. Besides the location of troops in Singapore, this file also includes the 'Order of Battle and Location Statement Malaya Command'. On 27 September 1946, a 'Movement Instruction' was issued to further implement the policy of retaining as many dwellings as possible to their former tenants and/or owners. Amendments to locations are in the later enclosures of the file.
