186 pgs. File looks at the planning and preparations between 1957 and 1958 for the "WE OF SINGAPORE" exhibition organised by the Department of Information Services. Due to costs factor, the exhibition was eventually scaled down and in its place, a smaller exhibition entitled "Our Singapore" was planned instead together with the Singapore Junior Chamber of Commerce. It was to be held in September 1958 during the International Trade Fair at the Great World Park. The theme of the exhibition was to show progress and achievements of Singapore to instil in the citizens of Singapore pride in their island and people, as well as to stimulate in those eligible for citizenship by registration the wish to become a citizen. To ensure success for the initiative, press officers were appointed to discuss practical arrangements with ministries and departments on press relations.
