42pp – File relates to the production of two pamphlets spearheaded by the Chief Minister’s Office and coordinated by the Ministry of Communications and Works. The first pamphlet, titled “Singapore Labour Front – Its Principles and Aim and Four-Year Programme”, was printed to showcase the Singapore Labour Front’s (SLF) achievements since it took office and the future path it would be taking to fulfil its pledges. The second, “Let the People Know”, would be a report from the Chief Minister on behalf of the Government, updating the people on how the SLF had met its election pledges and the people’s needs. A copy of SLF’s official organ, “The Star” (November 1955 issue), is also available in the file.
