File contains minutes of meetings on the setting up of a National Monuments Trust for the preservation of monuments as well as the formation of the ""Preservation of National Monuments Act"" as well as the composition of the Members of the National Monuments Trust. The file also contains brief write-ups on a list of monuments and the assessment done by a sub-committee on whether they should be considered for preservation. The file also contained information on the various related british legislations obtained from the British High Commission in Singapore. File also contains correspondences with the descendants of Tan Tock Seng on the construction of a retaining wall so that the grave of late Tan Tock Seng would be left undisturbed by constuction works by the government nearby.
