Synopsis :This selection of Music from Singapore in the 1990/1991 ASEAN Exchange of Radio Programmes series features the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation Chinese Orchestra in an overture to a ballet based on folk music. We then hear a vocal number 'Lagu Ronggeng Serampang Pantai' influenced by the Malay community dance called the ronggeng which has come down to us from the Portuguese. The programme also features two compositions by jazz artiste Jeremy Monteiro and a Tamil song called 'The Dream'.
