  • Synopsis :

    Two segments covered in this programme:  

    1.   Straight Talk on the topic "Drug Abuse  -  Why Is It On the Rise?'   -     this segment examines drug abuse and rehabilitation in Singapore, given the seriousness of the drug problem.  The audience  former drug addicts who relate their experiences,  after-care officers and other concerned youth. The panellists are:

    i.   K S Rajah, Vice-President, Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA).
    ii.  Merican Melic, Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).


    2.   2nd Chance   -   a 8-minute video segment traces the drug addict's long and painful road back to society. The story looks at the various treatments provided at the Drug Rehabilitation Centres (DRCs), and the problems of stigmisation through first-hand accounts of DRC inmates and halfway house residents.
