  • Synopsis :

Three segments covered in this programme:

    1.   Romania: A New Start  -  even after the death of Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, the popular revolution in Romania is far from over. In a country with no tradition of democracy, Romania, like other East European countries, is just beginning to grapple with the real political and economic implications of the revolution. This segment looks at what it takes to rebuild Romania after decades of  deprivation.

    2.   Design For Living - And Working  -  the city centre of Singapore is a thriving commercial hub by day, but a desolate landscape by night. This may change, with plans to revitalise the business district. This segment looks at the bold architectural vision of Tay Kheng Soon and finds out how his imagination is turning into reality.

Lupus: The Silent Disease  -  it can strike anyone at any time, and in any part of the body.  It is a disease that plagues its victims and baffles the experts. About 1,000 people in Singapore live with it daily, in the knowledge that they may never be cured. This segment features talks with patients and doctors about the silent disease known as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
