  • Synopsis :

    Three segments covered in this programme:  

    1.   Comrades Again   -    looks at the crumbling of the strategic order and how this will affect power relations in Asia.

    2.   Saigon Revisited   -   Vietnam is still recovering  from the ravages of a war which ended nearly 14 years ago. But there are signs of revival in the former capital of the South, Saigon, now known as Ho Chi Minh City. Tourists are returning, private enterprise is encouraged and employment here is lower than the reat of Vietnam.

    3.   1992: Europe Without Frontiers   -   discusses whether the end of the European Community's internal frontiers will bring about the world's biggest and most restrictive trading bloc. A Singapore computer company which sells to Europe and to an European multi-national company talks to Friday background about their fears, hopes and plans as 1992 nears.
