    Joseph Pereira interviews Maggie Pereira and John Ali, both members of the 1960s band Maggie and the Pests; Maggie talks about how Maggie and the Pests followed the trend of female singers fronting bands and how they modelled themselves on other bands such as the Thunderbirds; Ali talks about the founding of the band in 1960s, who was in the band, how they got together; chat about the Hillview area and how the area was very conducive for musicians; Maggie and Ali talk about where the band rehearsed, how they were financed, how they acquired their equipment; Ali talks about the band's' first gig at the South East Asia Hotel and subsequent gigs at British military camps; chat about the sort of music the band played, how there was conflict within the band leading to its disbanding in 1967; Ali talks about the founding of the band Pest Infested in 1967, how the band led the way in making the leap into Blues music; how the band grew and the chronology of various members' participation in the band
