Synopsis :1. Singapore: The Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) Taskforce said the EV 71 virus was the main cause of the outbreak of the disease. The virus was found in the bodies of the Chua siblings who died on September 30th. Sound bite of Daniel Wang Nan Chee, Head of HFMD Taskforce. (00:03:29)
2. Singapore: The People's Action Party (PAP) Community Foundation is giving $225,000 in refunds to parents using its childcare centres. This is to ease the burden the parents face during the 12-day closure of the centres when they had to find alternative arrangements.(00:05:51)

6. Singapore: The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) search and rescue team have saved eight lives this year as a result of scramble missions. 7. Egypt: Arab foreign ministers are meeting in Egypt to prepare for an emergency weekend summit at which they are expected to review ties with Israel following the violence in the Middle East. 13. United States: Scientists in the United States have revived a 250-million-year-old bacteria believed to be the oldest living creature ever discovered. (00:21:16)
14. Singapore: The trial within a trial involving a former footballer, Mirko Jurilj. The defence accused the authorities of forcing him to sign a false confession. Two Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) officers took the witness stand and were cross-examined by the defence. The judge eventually ruled that the confession was valid evidence for the main corruption trial. (00:24:56)
