  • Synopsis :

Cao Cao's condition worsens. After having a peculiar dream, he worries that his days are numbered. When he starts having visions of his past victims, Cao Cao calls in his advisors to hear his last wishes. He proclaims that the eldest, Cao Pi, who is the most capable, will succeed him. Cao Cao dies at the age of sixty-six. Cao Pi is crowned the Prince of Wei. Cao Zhang comes with an army of one hundred thousand troops. This move troubles the new prince. Cao Zhang later withdraws to Yanling. Cao Pi continues to berate the other two brothers for not attending Cao Cao's funeral. Cao Xiong, the youngest brother, later hangs himself. Cao Zhi, on the other hand, treats Cao Pi's messenger badly. His companions Ding Yi and Ding Yin are put to death while he was arrested. Their mother, Lady Bian, is alarmed at how hardline the new reign is panning out to be.
